What is an adapter?
Fire Adapters are plumbing fittings that allow fire hose couplings to be safely interconnected with couplings of varying sizes, threads, or mating surfaces. Adapters can also safely connect couplings to other appliances. In an emergency, fire adapters can help to save time by connecting mismatched hoses and couplings speedily. The Storz adapters are mainly used for connecting fire hydrants; Storz is a quarter turn adapter that is easy to connect with no particular male or female parts.
